About Me

I’m a lifelong fan of sci-fi in all forms, but books have always been the most immersive to me. While filmmaking and songwriting are both beautiful in their own ways, books and written stories have their own way of presenting a story that I find carries a lot more depth and nuisance.  My love of reading and writing was fostered by my parents and grown further by good friends and great authors.

Outside of books, I like to play online with my friends (unhealthy amounts of Minecraft), work on cars, and play the keyboard.

Beginnings

I was born in the town of Bethlehem in the first state, Delaware. This is of course not to be confused with any other famous Bethlehems you may have heard of before. My stay here was short, as my family moved to Pennslyvania around a year later before finally settling in Radford, Virginia two years after that. I have spent the lion’s share of my life in this somewhat quiet, very indebted town on the banks of the New River (great name, by the way). Even if I am technically a transplant here, something about the soft green glow of light as it filters through the forest canopy or the sound of lake grass rustling in the wind have always felt like home.

Meeting Beckett

I met Beckett in preschool when we were both four years old. Luckily for us both, we hit it off on day one and have remained friends pretty much ever since. We’ve always talked about books, even to the point of trying to write a collaborative series before. With over sixteen years of conversation, it was only natural we eventually started a website to host our various tidbits and thoughts.

Life as of Late

At the time of writing, I’m finishing my last semester at New River Community College (Actively procrastinating on some Calculus homework in fact). After graduating with my associates degree, I’m pursuing a transfer to Virginia Tech for Data Science or Radford University for Information Science. Following an ADHD diagnosis and discovering my new favorite book series, the Hyperion Cantos, my love of reading and writing has been reignited and is ready to be poured into my posts here.

What I'll be Writing About

The series I’m most excited to cover are Dune, Hyperion, Halo, and the Siege of Terra. Inevitably that list will get longer, but these main four series are close to my heart for one reason or another. What’s up first? An overview of some of the more prolific Halo novels, breaking down if they’re just afterthoughts or if they’re diamonds in the rough. After that, I’m almost finished reading God Emperor of Dune, and you can bet I have a million and a half thoughts on that one.

I look forward to seeing you around!
